Scared Boys to Abusive Men - Understanding the Evolution of Male Driven Gendered Violence is a professional development workshop for staff that work in the family domestic violence (FDV) field.
In this professional development workshop Matt Vapor uses his personal experience of domestic abuse and domestic violence to demonstrate how scared boys can evolve to become abusive men. It examines enviromental and societal issues around toxic masculinity and how they can compund issues for young males who have been exposed to domestic abuse and domestic violence. This workshop builds an empathetic and professional approach to explaining, while not condoning, gendered violence and explores the challenges of addressing toxic masculinity and gendered violence.
